My local town, Bracknell, has started the first structural steps along the road of regeneration. Plans for this have been ongoing for many many years with locals believing that it would never happen. Well, the first tentative steps have been made with trees being felled and compulsory purchase orders in place. It does look and feel as though something is happening. The official timeline states that 2000 was the consultation period when the Borough Council asked the public what they wanted from a new town centre. The truth is that long before this date there was much discussion over what should or should not happen with the town.
Now, in 2013 work has actually started on the regeneration itself, albeit limited to the Northern section allowing trade to continue throughout other parts of the town.
I have spent a few hours wondering the streets trying to grab a few shots of the Urban Landscape as it stands at the moment. The idea being to revisit, as work progresses, and update scenes as and when it is appropriate. In order to keep the post of a reasonable length I will limit the number of photographs in each. Then add another at a later time but without the preamble.
So off we go:-
Urban Landscape – Bracknell
See you next time.
