It was a warm, sunny, clear day and a walk along the seafront on a September morning seemed ideal. Children were back at school and the expectation for the crowds to be greatly reduced was a bonus. We were spending a few days in Kent so it was it was easy to motor over to Broadstairs for a breath of fresh air.
What was noticeable was the fact that we seemed to be to only ones on the seafront. Had something happened? Apparently not. However, the “Beach Huts” were stretching out in front of us. Not one was open. It seemed such a pity that these gaily coloured buildings were not being used.
